OEM Program
A key component of Invensys' ArchestrA® vision and strategy is the strong OEM focus. The ArchestrA architecture provides a framework for developing embedded applications that allows OEMs to focus on their domain expertise while leaving the details of software architecture to ArchestrA. Industrial machine and hardware builders or industrial software solutions providers can use the ArchestrA architecture to:
- drive down engineering costs;
- enhance development productivity;
- increase product lifecycles; and
- launch new functionality and remote services.
The ArchestrA architecture's object-oriented development environment allows OEMs to re-use their engineering work by deploying the same object multiple times or modifying a base template. Usng the ArchestrA Object Toolkit, OEMs can compile objects and protect their intellectual property. They can publish the objects that correspond to their products on this site, so that their customers can download these objects and utilize them in their plant systems.
We have OEM relationships with many global organizations, including industrial equipment suppliers, machine tool builders, process control companies and manufacturers of control and HMI equipment. The introduction of ArchestrA technology provides an expanded set of capabilities that drives down the cost of engineering for the OEM and ultimately increases the scalability of the OEM's application once it reaches the end user.
OEMs can also make their applications ArchestrA Ready to make system information available plantwide. By making your software ArchestrA Ready, you get a powerful, open software solution that can make your machines easier to design, easier to build, and easier to sell.
ArchestrA technology offers many opportunities to custom-design your objects by utilizing:
- The Wizard Development Kit for creating reusable graphical objects or command sequences;
- A Script Enhancement Kit for creating complex algorithms and embedding them directly into the visualization software;
- An I/O Toolkit for creating communications interfaces to specialty equipment;
- The ArchestrA DAS Toolkit, which accomodates the use of OPC®, SuiteLink™ and DDE protocols;
- The ArchestrA Object Toolkit, which allows for the creation of compiled objects so that you can create and distribute your machine's objects and still protect your intellectual property;
- Microsoft® ActiveX™ controls, the SuiteLink protocol and toolkits included with Wonderware FactorySuite® 2000 and FactorySuite A2™ products; and
- I/O Servers for connectivity to other devices. We offer hundreds of servers to connect to hundreds of industrial controllers and devices, including DeviceNet and others.
